Châteauneuf-du-Faou
Its religious heritage and its beautiful landscapes are offering wonderful walks. You can also visit the city, following Paul Sérusier’s (famous painter) steps who lived for around 30 years. You will have a large choices of restaurant around 1km from the house.
The city is dominated by the Montagnes Noires on South, constituting wonderful landscapes too.
In Aulne valley, you will discover the Canal from Nantes to Brest (the river has been canalized in the XIX century) offering peace and calm on its towpaths, start point for numerous hiking (walks or bike).
Châteauneuf-du-Faou has a nautical leisure infrastructure where you can rent boats, canoes or bikes. The Canal from Nantes to Brest is a privileged place for fishing.
Trévarez castle
Le Château de Trévarez (5km) and its 85 hectares of gardens (the parc is listed as “Jardin Remarquable” in 2006 by Culture Ministry) can be visited throughout the year because of the abundance of its botanic garden. You will find some camelias, rhododendrons, hortensias…
It is a very active place with some evenements during the year through expositions and festivals as Camelia’s festival, Rhododendron’s Festival or the exposition for “Noël de Trévarez”.
